Gentle Dental has been providing patients with excellence in Dental Care for over 35 years. In 1971, Dr. Ron Weissman & Dr. Sam Shames had a vision of making quality dental care affordable and convenient. Over the years, they have built their reputation for excellence by focusing first on patient care. Gentle Dental is the largest multi-specialty group practice in New England with 35 convenient locations across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. One of their goals is to give every person in New England a healthy, confident smile.

After eliminating their small in-house discount plan offered in several of their offices, Gentle Dental searched for an experienced and knowledgeable partner immersed in the discount dental plan market with a proven track record. Gentle Dental required a partner that would design a regulatory compliant plan to increase patient acceptance and improve patient loyalty. Hence, in 2017, a partnership with The CDI Group was established, and the Essential Dental Plan created.

Gentle Dental and The CDI Group worked closely together to design a plan to meet the needs of the uninsured Gentle Dental patient who wanted quality dental care at an affordable price. They collaborated to customize the plan name, logo and branding, create user-friendly collateral and materials to engage the potential patient, while also creating a mobile-friendly website for patients and offices to utilize. The Essential Dental Plan website allows members and offices to enroll in the plan within minutes, and immediately become eligible to receive discounts. Once enrolled, members can print ID cards immediately, review the detailed fee schedule, add family members, and pay their annual membership fee from the mobile-ready website. Customer Service was also high on the priority list for the Essential Dental Plan. The CDI Group provides potential members, patients, and participating provider offices access to a team of trained Client Services Representatives to assist with enrollment questions, plan information, new enrollment processing, billing inquiries, account updates and more. Offices will be contacted once a month for ongoing support and plan training. Dedicated Provider Services representative will be available on a daily basis to address any specific questions or issues at office level.
